A hand grenade and detonator found in the home of a 36-year-old resident

Officers of the Tavush Division of the Community Police received operative information that a 36-year-old resident of the village of Aygedzor was illegally storing a hand grenade with a detonator.
As a result of the operative–investigative measures, on October 15, the 36-year-old man was detained and taken to the police station, where he stated that he was keeping the grenade with its detonator in his private house.
During a search conducted within the framework of the initiated criminal proceedings, police discovered an “RGD-5” combat grenade and a grenade detonator in the man’s home in Aygedzor.
A preliminary investigation is underway.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs Police urges citizens to voluntarily surrender illegally stored weapons and ammunition in order to avoid criminal liability.
