Clarification: since May 5, the powers of the head of the criminal investigation department of the Dilijan department have been suspended

Today, a video was circulated in the media, where the head of the criminal investigation department of the Dilijan police department was beating a boy.

We announce that regarding the aforementioned case, the Internal Security Department of the RA MIA Police received information that in 2023 on April 10, the head of the criminal investigation department of the Dilijan department of the Tavush regional department of the Internal Affairs Police beat a restaurant employee in one of the restaurant complexes in Dilijan.

In connection with the above, on April 14, the internal security department of the MIA police started an official investigation and confirmed the above-mentioned fact.

Considering the fact that the head of the criminal investigation department could obstruct the investigation by remaining in office, on May 5 his official powers were temporarily suspended, and the documents obtained during the official investigation were sent to the RA General Prosecutor’s Office.
