From a “fatal” performance in the Tavush Diocese to Starmus festival. The voices of Tavush in Sports Concert Complex

One month ago, at the end-of-year concert of the children’s choir of the Diocese of Tavush, no one could have imagined that the performance of the selection of the Queen group’s repertoire could be fateful. Thanks to this performance, the little Tavush residents reached the big stage of the Sports Concert Complex.

On September 7, during the Another World Concert held within the framework of the Starmus VI festival, the children’s choir shocked the complex and captured the hearts of the audience. Queen’s legendary guitarist Brian May introduced them from the stage.

The children’s choir of the Diocese of Tavush was founded in 2016 with the blessing and initiative of the diocesan leader Bagrat Srbazan. The choir’s repertoire is diverse, from spiritual and patriotic to contemporary pop and rock.

Maria Galstyan is the artistic director and conductor of the choir. She arrives from the capital Yerevan to the rectory of the Tavush Diocese for each training; as she says, “to date the children with the beautiful.”

In the video below, we told about the journey of the Choir from the “fatal” performance in the rectory of the Diocese of Tavush to the Starmus festival; and about children’s feelings.

Here is what Brian May says about The performance of the Choir.
