Games, Bright Colors, and Smiles, Children’s Protection Day in Ijevan

Games, bright colors, and smiles, our mosaic from Ijevan on Children’s Protection Day.

June 1 has been celebrated as International Children’s Day since 1950.

Armenia ratified the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child in 1992, after which, in 1996, the RA Law on Children’s Rights was adopted.

The articles of the Convention detail the individual rights of people under 18 (unless they are recognized as adults earlier by local law) to develop their full potential free from hunger, need, cruelty, exploitation, and other forms of abuse. Children’s rights include the relationships between children and their parents and other people, physical protection, free education, health care, and civil rights.
