Heroes. Garnik Hovakimyan

The hero of our new edition of “The Heroes” TV program is Garnik Hovakimyan. A responsible student, a reliable friend, who reaches out and helps and takes care of his family and relatives, this is how we will stay in the hearts of those who were lucky enough to know him.

Garnik Hovakimyan was born on March 15, 2001. He got admitted to Hovk Secondary School and graduated in 2019. The same year, he entered YSU IB, Department of Design and Applied Arts.

He was drafted into the army on June 26, 2019. He served in the “Martuni-2” defense military unit in the Republic of Artsakh. During the service, he was awarded a certificate of appreciation and a watch for high responsibility.

He was in the military position on September 27, 2020. He died on November 4 as a result of the explosion of a tank shell while stopping the enemy’s attack.

For the courage shown on the battlefield, he was posthumously awarded “For Courage” and “Mother of Charity” medals.
