“Remembering the Past, Inspiring the Future”: The 110th anniversary of Arshaluys Poladyan was celebrated in the Berd

On August 16, a solemn event was held at the Berd House of Culture dedicated to the 110th anniversary of the birth of Arshaluis Poladyan, the first secretary of the Shamshadin District Committee of the Communist Party of Armenia and a prominent state and party figure. The commemorative event was organized by the Berd Municipality with the support of the Poladyan family.
The event was opened by the head of Berd community, Astghik Hakobyan, who emphasized in her speech:
“Our region has had outstanding individuals who became the driving force of their time, who developed and flourished our homeland and state, leaving behind a name and a legacy for us and future generations. Today we have the honor to celebrate the birthday of one of our community’s distinguished sons, Arshaluis Poladyan. He dedicated his entire life to his native land and people. Under his leadership, Shamshadin experienced years of progress and growth. His integrity and selfless service remain eternal values in the hearts of the people.”
During the event, a prayer was offered by Rev. Father Aram Mirzoyan, spiritual pastor of the Berd region. The program also featured presentations highlighting significant moments of Arshaluis Poladyan’s life and career.
Speakers included Simon Yesayan, Colonel (reservist) and President of the “Veterans Union of Armenia named after Marshal Bagramyan” NGO; Artur Yerkanian, Director of the Berd History and Ethnography Museum of the “Berd” Historical and Cultural Reserve; Artashes Shahnazaryan, Senior Researcher at the Institute of History of the National Academy of Sciences of Armenia and Editor-in-Chief of the journal Issues of Armenian History; as well as Poladyan’s elder son, engineer-constructor Arshavir Poladyan, and his grandson, dentist, Candidate of Medical Sciences, and founder of “Avanta” Medical Center, Karen Grigoryan.
They highlighted the importance of Poladyan’s political and administrative work and recalled his principles and integrity.
