On July 20, the three-day cultural festival”We Are Our Mountains” will be launched in Ijevan

A three-day cultural festival-event is planned in Ijevan ahead of Vardavar. With a creative approach and economic motivations, the community celebration will include the city of Ijevan and the settlements of Khashtarak, Achajur, Berkaber.

Ernest Khanumyan spoke with Lilit Ghalumyan, head of the Education, Culture, Sports and Youth Department of the Ijevan municipality, about the goals, process and many other details of the cultural event. 

On July 20, everyone is invited to Ijevan to take part in the three-day festival and enjoy the cultural celebrations.






The students of Achajur Secondary School took part in the video competition entitled “Dialect is our wealth”

February 21 was International Mother Language Day. On the occasion of the holiday, the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of the Republic of Armenia held an author’s video competition among schoolchildren under the title “Dialect is our wealth”.

Heroes. Ashot Vardapetyan

“I have always said that every girl like me should have a brother like Ashot,” says Ani Vardapetyan, his sister.

“The Heroes” program tells about Ashot Vardapetyan from Tavush, who was immortalized in the 44-day war.

Before the difficult battle, his senior friends, knowing what was waiting for them, told him to avoid and not to go, but he did not hesitate, “Where my comrades-in-arms are, there I shall be.”

Ashot Vardapetyan was born in 2000, in Achajur village, Tavush. He studied at Secondary School after Hrant Tamrazyan in 2006-2018.

During his school years, he attended Chess and Football class for 8 years. He participated in matches in different regions of the Republic of Armenia, as well as in the Republic of Georgia. After finishing school, he left for military service.

He served in “Martuni-2” in Artsakh. During the war, he was transferred to the southern border of Artsakh.

He spoke with his relatives for the last time on October 25; he fell a day later for the Homeland.

Ashot Vardapetyan was posthumously awarded “Combat Service,” “Military Cross,” and “Mother of Charity” medals.

 






How Easter was celebrated in Tavush region (videos)

Sunday liturgy, national song and dance, traditional games, and entertainment. Tavush TV tells how Easter was celebrated in Tavush region.

On April 17, the Armenian apostolic church celebrates the holiday of the Miraculous Resurrection of Christ: Holiday is also called Easter, which means “separation, remission of sins, return to God.” The Resurrection of Christ is the foundation of Christian doctrine and faith. “If there is no resurrection of the dead, then not even Christ has been raised.  And if Christ has not been raised, our preaching is worthless, and so is your faith.” (1 Corinthians 15:13-14)

As every year, the holiday of the Resurrection was uniquely celebrated in Tavush region. Our film crew was in Makaravank, where the youth and children of Achajur village and surrounding communities gathered together to participate in the liturgy. The holiday continued in the yard of the monastery with a traditional fight with eggs and song and dance.

Our correspondents from the Noyemberyan community were present at the Easter celebration in the yard of St. Gayane church in Voskevan. The Easter event was organized by the Voskevan cultural center, the students of Voskevan and Baghanis schools.

In the Berd community, Resurrection Day was solemnly celebrated in Berd city in the yard of St. Hovhannes church. After the liturgy, 17 settlements of the Berd community, accompanied by national song and dance, as well as Berd Multifunctional State College and the Berd branch of “Bridge of Hope” NGO, presented Easter sacrament, Easter traditions, and dishes in separate pavilions.
