Football tournament dedicated to 80th anniversary of honored pedagogue Hamlet Aydinyan

A sports tournament dedicated to the 80th anniversary of honored pedagogue Hamlet Aydinyan took place in the 4th Secondary School of Ijevan on March 20. The football teams of Berd, Dilijan, Ijevan, Getahovit, and Sarigyugh youth under 14 competed with each other.

According to Hamlet Aydinyan, due to sports, “children first cut off from the street, and are physically educated,” and, such kinds of tournaments are of great importance for achieving high sports results.

The tournament was organized by the FFA Tavush Regional Representation with the support of Ijevan Municipality. The head of the Ijevan community Arthur Chagharyan, employees of the community hall, and merited coaches were present at the championship.

As a result of the tournament, first place was taken by the “Nikarm” football team of Ijevan, second place by the Getahovit team, and third place by the Sarigyugh team.

Hamlet Aydinyan was given a certificate of appreciation by the governor of Tavush and the head of the Ijevan community for his significant contribution to the local sports development.

“In our memories of the older generation, Mr. Aydinyan’s activity was first as a volleyball player, then as a coach, and at the same time as a pedagogue, and he also headed Ijevan Local Sports Committee for many years. Of course, today our young football players are given the chance to be educated, and to perform a sports feat through football,” mentions the trainer of “Nikarm” football team Arman Chapukhyan.
