“Tanik” – The Duryans’ family guest house in Artsvaberd promises an unforgettable rest under its roof

A new tour address in Tavush. Tanik (Roof) guest house in the village of Artsvaberd, in Berd, is waiting for its guests. The Duryans, living in Artsvaberd, built a guest house on the roof of the house, where one can enjoy the unique nature of Tavush and village life. On June 3, the official opening ceremony of the guest house was held. On the occasion of the opening ceremony priest Aram Mirzoyan, spiritual pastor of Berd region, performed the blessing ceremony.

The village itself is the place of the most interesting discoveries and vivid impressions, and the goal of the guest house is to make people fall in love with rural everyday life.

There 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, a hall and a kitchen in the guest house. Besides the night stay, hiking is also offered to the interesting directions of the region. The guests will get acquainted with the traditional village food, and will cook.

Berd Regional Development Foundation supported the creation of the Tanik Guest house. The guest house is equipped with all amenities so that the guests return with the best impressions.

Artsvaberd will become a a place for tourism with the combination of love, unique nature, and hospitality. Tanik promises to become a favorite and awaited address of tourists.

97-year-old grandfather Aghalo and the story of his life written on the pages of the notebook. Artsvaberd

97-year-old grandfather Aghalo is the chronicler of Artsvaberd. From 1995 until today, he writes down his every day in notebooks, which became and are becoming a value for his relatives, village and villagers, strangers, researchers.

His favorite pastime, which he has been faithful to for 28 years, is writing a diary.

Smiling sincerely like a child, the grandfather’s eyes fill up sometimes, he finds it difficult to speak when he remembers dear people who are no longer there…

The HRD Representatives visited Berd

All over the world, December 10 is celebrated as International Human Rights Day. The celebration of that day is associated with the adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights by the United Nations. On December 10, HRD representatives held a reception for citizens in Berd community hall.

The citizens received the necessary advice on the spot and submitted applications to the Defender.

It should also be noted that on the initiative of the Human Rights Defender, visits and receptions of citizens were organized in all the regions of RA on December 10, on the International Day of Human Rights Protection.






Consecration of the chapel and unveiling of the bust in memory of Karen Margaryan, immortalized in the 44-day war

 

On November 23, the bust of Karen Margaryan, who died in the 44-day war, was unveiled in Paravakar village. The chapel at the top of the village, built in memory of Karen, was consecrated.

Karen Margaryan was born on November 23, 2000, in the village of Paravakar, Tavush region. From 2006-2018 he studied at Paravakar Secondary School, named after Edik Melkumyan. After graduating from school, he was admitted to the finance faculty of the Yerevan State University of Economics. But on January 30, 2019, leaving his studies incomplete, he was drafted into the Armenian Army.

Karen died on September 27, 2020, while performing a combat mission.

On November 23, Karen Margaryan’s bust, who died in the 44-day Artsakh war, was unveiled in Paravaqar.

The opening ceremony was attended by Narek Ghushchyan, Deputy Governor of Tavush, RA NA MP Vahe Ghalumyan, Karen Margaryan’s parents, other officials, and residents of the village.

During the event, the life and fighting path of Karen Margaryan was presented.

After that, the consecration ceremony of the chapel built in memory of Karen Margaryan was held by the spiritual leader of Tavush Diocese, Bishop Bagrat Galstanyan.

19-year-old Karen Vahram Margaryan was born in 2000 in Paravaqar village of Tavush region.

Karen was the youngest child of the family. He had many future plans. He was going to continue his education after the army.

Ես իմ օրերից գլուխ չեմ հանում,

Ջոկել չի լինում էլ ճիշտը ստից…

Սառնամանիքին ձյունի պես հալվում,

Գլուխ չեմ հանում… իմ անտեր գլխից,

Gohar, an accountant by profession and mother of two children, has been vlogging in her native Itsakar village for two years, trying to give new life to Tavush traditions and customs.
