An honoring evening dedicated to Albert Papyan’s 75th birthday was held in Berd

On February 19, on the book giving day, the honoring evening of distinguished pedagogue, intellectual Albert Papyan was held at the Zhirayr Ananyan community culture house in Berd. The event was dedicated to Albert Papyan’s  75th birthday.

At the end of the event, Albert Papyan was awarded by the head of the Berd community for his significant contribution to the preservation of the dialect, folklore, traditions, education and upbringing of the young generation of Berd.




Book Giving Day in Noyemberyan

Ahead of the book giving day, the children’s library of the Noyemberyan Culture Center hosted the students of Baghanis Kindergarten.

The city library named after Ignat Mamyan of Noyemberyan, in turn, prepared several bundles of books from the library’s fund for Jujevan and Dovegh libraries, as well as the library of mountaineers of Karmir village.

Albert Papyan has many things to tell and to teach and we were hosted to listen to his Tavush Talk.

Writer, pedagogue Albert Papyan studied at the Faculty of Armenian Philology of the Kh. Abovyan Pedagogical Institute. He worked in the schools of Artsvaberd, Nerqin Karmiraghbyur and Berd as a teacher, deputy director, director. Later, he worked in the public education department as manager, head of the culture department.

In 1993, he established Berd School Number 4 and worked until 2011. Then he retired.

Sometimes he wrote poems. After retiring he has started writing more.




Tamzara: National-folk evening in the Political Cafe in Ijevan

Exhibition dedicated to painter Samvel Melkumyan’s 70th birthday

On the initiative of the Ijevan municipality, an exhibition dedicated to the 70th anniversary of painter Samvel Melkumyan, a member of the Union of Artists, was held in the “Vernatun” gallery. The premiere of the musical performance of the poem “The Capture of Fort Tmuk” was held in the border guard military unit

“The Capture of Fort Tmuk” was presented with a new interpretation by the soldiers of the border guard military unit of Tavush. The premiere of the musical performance was held on December 16.

One of the soldiers, Alexander Gabrielyan tells how the idea of presenting Hovhannes Tumanyan`s poem was born.

“Today`s soldier stands firmly on the border, is creative, and has something to say to the community and society,” said Deacon Hovhannes, one of the regiments of the military unit.

The initiative to stage the performance in Berd became a reality with the support of the commander of the military unit and the deputy in charge of morale and psychological support. The goal of the performance is to strengthen the army-society connection.
