YSU IB Graduation Ceremony Master’s degree in 2023

On March 11, 2023, the graduation ceremony of the graduates of the part-time learning master’s degree in the “School Pedagogy and Methodology” educational program of the “General Pedagogy” specialty was held at Ijevan Branch of Yerevan State University.
Acting director of YSU IB Anushavan Makaryan, deputy director Mher Otaryan and coordinator of the master’s educational program Aleksan Margaryan congratulated the graduates of the second year of the master’s program in “General Pedagogy” of YSU IB and sent their best wishes.
Mr. Makaryan wished the graduates great professional achievements and success, personal happiness, the will to uphold the reputation of YSU IB and the honor of university students and purposefulness.
6 out of 13 graduates of the 2022-2023 year of YSU IB master’s program received a diploma of excellence.




An honoring evening dedicated to Albert Papyan’s 75th birthday was held in Berd

On February 19, on the book giving day, the honoring evening of distinguished pedagogue, intellectual Albert Papyan was held at the Zhirayr Ananyan community culture house in Berd. The event was dedicated to Albert Papyan’s  75th birthday.

At the end of the event, Albert Papyan was awarded by the head of the Berd community for his significant contribution to the preservation of the dialect, folklore, traditions, education and upbringing of the young generation of Berd.




6-month online training program in Noyemberyan

Tavush Talk with Albert Papyan

Albert Papyan has many things to tell and to teach and we were hosted to listen to his Tavush Talk.

Writer, pedagogue Albert Papyan studied at the Faculty of Armenian Philology of the Kh. Abovyan Pedagogical Institute. He worked in the schools of Artsvaberd, Nerqin Karmiraghbyur and Berd as a teacher, deputy director, director. Later, he worked in the public education department as manager, head of the culture department.

In 1993, he established Berd School Number 4 and worked until 2011. Then he retired.

Sometimes he wrote poems. After retiring he has started writing more.




“Paper is not waste” an environmental campaign on the initiative of Innovation Knowledge Hub Tavush

Innovation Knowledge Hub Tavush has launched an environmental campaign aimed at paper recycling, within the framework of which meetings and trainings were organized in public and secondary professional educational institutions of Ijevan. During the meetings, paper recycling technology was introduced to the youth to spread the paper recycling culture and try to reduce the amount of paper waste.

During the “Paper is not waste” environmental campaign, the importance of paper recycling and the expected results were also discussed.

The “Paper is not waste” environmental campaign was implemented within the framework of the project “Development of the Social Entrepreneurship Ecosystem in Border Regions for Green Progress” implemented with the support of the European Union, which is implemented by the “Green Lane” NGO in Armenia.




Piloting the localized version of the “Positive Youth Development Questionnaire” in Dilijan

In order to test the first questionnaire of the localized version of the “Positive Youth Development Questionnaire” within the framework of the “Civic Education and Participation” program, a meeting was held in Dilijan High School on February 9 with the participation of students of the Tavush working group, and the students and teachers of social studies from 4 public schools of Tavush region. At the beginning of the meeting, the program and the vision of positive youth development were presented, then, the teachers and students shared their observations, remarks and suggestions in the context of the current educational standard reforms.




Small and Emerging Business Development Program in Armenian Provinces with Scholarships for Women

In November 2022, the American University of Armenia (AUA) Open Education launched the “Sarkis Cabayan Small and Emerging Business Development Program in Armenian Provinces with Scholarships for Women.”

The goal of the program is to promote the development of businesses in the regions of Armenia, providing particular support to women entrepreneurs. The curriculum was prepared by the faculty of the AUA Manoogian Simone College of Business & Economics and invites entrepreneurs to participate in an intensive six-month course on entrepreneurship, business management, financial management, and finding new markets. In tandem with the main program, foreign and local mentors will provide individual and practical advice to students, aimed at the development of their businesses and the launch of new ideas. The training will be conducted in English, which is why the program opens with English language lessons before students start the business course.

The program is sponsored by Armenian-American Dr. Hrayr Cabayan who, emphasizing quality education and the role of women in a developed society, established a full scholarship for all female entrepreneur students in his father’s name.

The program will be implemented in the Shirak, Lori, Tavush, Vayots Dzor, and Syunik marzes of Armenia, as well as in Artsakh.

“The stars are with us”. An astronomy club is starting in Noyemberyan

On January 12, a new extra-curricular education program “The stars are with us” was launched in the Noyemberyan community.

Anahit Parsadanyan, the coordinator of the constructive body presented the program. The program will be implemented with the school-aged children of 19 settlements of the community.

Restart Ijevan for the sake of youth empowerment. Law “On Higher Education” for students

In the summer of 2022, the “Level Up youth empowerment camp,” initiated by “Restart Ijevan” scientific and educational NGO, was launched, which united around 50 young people of Tavush Region. The purpose of the “Level Up Youth Empowerment Camp” program was to support the implementation of changes in student self-government provided by the new law “On Higher Education” in Tavush region to contribute to the formation of alternative student groups.

About 80 participants applied for the project. About 50 young people from different settlements of Tavush Region were given the opportunity to participate in the project.

The participants worked in four teams. During the camp phase, the teams developed and presented 10 program proposals, and the best 4 initiatives would be selected and financed by the organization already in the post-camp phase. The camp routine was also filled with team building, intellectual, sports, and leisure activities.

Through this program, “Restart Ijevan” also prepares young people for the changes in student self-government envisaged by the new law “On Higher Education.”
