Today the rescuers from Tavush who returned from Syria were admitted by Ijevan community head Artur Chagharyan. They went as part of the rescue squad from RA to support the works in the regions affected by the devastating earthquake.

Artur Chagharyan thanked them for their selfless work, and significant help in the search and rescue operations carried out in Syria. The mayor gave certificates of appreciation to the 13 rescuers who returned and donated equipment to the regional rescue department of Tavush by the municipality administration.

In a conversation with us, the deputy director of the Rescue Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, colonel T. Petrosyan said that 13 rescuers from the Tavush Regional Rescue Department have been in Syria since February 8 to carry out a humanitarian mission in the disaster zone.

On February 8, the Republic of Armenia sent rescue teams to Syria to support search and rescue operations in the earthquake-affected areas.

On January 27, at 00:14 an emergency call was received to Tavush Regional Crisis Management Center that forage had been on fire in Artsvaberd village.

Two fire units from the Fire and Rescue Squads of Regional Rescue Department of the Rescue Service of the MIA of RA dispatched to the scene.

The fire was localized at 02:43 and extinguished at 03։00. About 250 bales of hay were burnt.

As a result of the inspection, the police of Tavush division found out that on January 24 around 22:00, an unknown person had set fire to the forage of a 63-year-old resident of Artsvaberd.

As a result of the operational and investigative measures taken, it was found that the haystack was set on fire by the 21-year-old daughter-in-law of the host. It was also found that on January 25, around 10:30 p.m., she tried to set fire to the barn next to the house with a flammable substance. The compiled documents were sent to the investigative department of Berd.

On January 20, at 14:13, the Regional Crisis Management Center of Tavush received an emergency call that a landslide occurred near 15 Mashtots Street in Berd city.

It turned out that a soil collapse occurred in the hole dug for laying a pipeline at the mentioned address. There was a casualty.

Rescuers brought out citizen V. H from under the soil layer and took him to the ambulance. the casualty was hospitalized in the Medical Center of Berd city, where his death was recorded.

On January 18, at 00:07, an emergency call was received Regional Crisis Management Center of Tavush that a car had been on fire in Aygedzor.

The fire was localized at 00:41 and extinguished at 01:12. The “VAZ-2107” car parked in the yard of one of the houses on the 2nd cul-de-sac on the 5th street of Aygedzor village was burnt.

On January 17, at 09:09, Regional Risk Management Center of Tavush was alerted that a house was on fire in the village of Hovk.

The fire was localized at 11:51 and extinguished at 13:04.

On January 16, at 12:41, the Regional Crisis Management center of Tavush was alerted that a car accident happened on the highway of Yenokavan village; the help of rescuers was needed.

One fire unit from the Fire and Rescue Squad of the Regional Rescue Department of the MES of RA dispatched to the scene.

Before rescuers arrived at the scene, the driver (A. A., born in 1994) and the passenger (K. T., born in 1995) had been pulled out of the car.

It turned out that on the 4th km of the Ijevan-Yenokavan highway, the “BMW” car (driver: A. A., born in 1994) left the road and slid about 3 meters into the valley.

A. A. and K. T. were hospitalized at Ijevan Medical Center, where the state of their health was assessed satisfactory.

The rescuers disconnected the automotive battery.
