In the video of Tavush Media reporter Hranush Ananyan, it is art critic Anush Hakobyan, who considers it her mission to make Armenian culture and art recognizable, close and understandable to everyone and first of all to ourselves.

Anush Hakobyan’s Art Discovery project presents a series of trainings for everyone to study and recognize Armenian and International culture.




Tavush Talk with Albert Papyan

Albert Papyan has many things to tell and to teach and we were hosted to listen to his Tavush Talk.

Writer, pedagogue Albert Papyan studied at the Faculty of Armenian Philology of the Kh. Abovyan Pedagogical Institute. He worked in the schools of Artsvaberd, Nerqin Karmiraghbyur and Berd as a teacher, deputy director, director. Later, he worked in the public education department as manager, head of the culture department.

In 1993, he established Berd School Number 4 and worked until 2011. Then he retired.

Sometimes he wrote poems. After retiring he has started writing more.




The mayor of Ijevan hosted the rescuers from Tavush who returned from Syria

Today the rescuers from Tavush who returned from Syria were admitted by Ijevan community head Artur Chagharyan. They went as part of the rescue squad from RA to support the works in the regions affected by the devastating earthquake.

Artur Chagharyan thanked them for their selfless work, and significant help in the search and rescue operations carried out in Syria. The mayor gave certificates of appreciation to the 13 rescuers who returned and donated equipment to the regional rescue department of Tavush by the municipality administration.

Small-scale technical assistance projects financed by the German Embassy

Financing for small-scale technical assistance projects is part of Germany’s general development cooperation in Armenia. It enables the Embassy to support projects in a fast and flexible way in response to specific emergencies. This improves living conditions for the most disadvantaged groups within the local population, especially in rural areas.

The Embassy’s contribution to the project should not exceed 8,000€.

Please hand in your application to the Embassy between 1 January and 28 February of any given year. Applications which are received later than that may only be considered if the annual budget has not already been exhausted. Rejected projects will not be automatically considered in the following year. The application form can be downloaded from the Embassy’s website. Please bear in mind that two persons must sign the document by hand. In the application you should tell us about the project executing organisation, provide detailed information about the project and a meaningful financial plan.

European Media Facility Lab accepts applications

The EU NEIGHBOURS EAST project in cooperation with the ‘European Media Facility in Armenia’ project, funded by the European Union and led by DW Akademie, is launching a media outreach and capacity-building initiative. The initiative will start with a constructive journalism training course led by a DW Akademie expert on 17-19 March 2023.

During the training, selected journalists will learn how to develop stories on inspiring solutions, and to conduct a critical evaluation of their impact. Journalists will discover the potential of constructive stories, inspiring people to rethink their approaches, providing solutions, and encouraging actions.

Participants will get acquainted with EU-funded projects in Armenia aimed at environmental protection, regional and economic development, inclusion, and youth empowerment. The projects will present their activities at the training in the format of an elevator speech.

After the training, participants will get an opportunity to receive production support from EU NEIGHBOURS EAST, which aims to enable journalists to create constructive journalism stories about EU-funded initiatives of their choice.

EU NEIGHBOURS EAST will provide participants with practical guidance on how to produce and disseminate such stories, as well as with financial support (maximum €200 per application).

The journalist applying to participate in the European Media Facility Lab Armenia:

  • Must have experience in working with Armenian media settings.
  • Must be fluent in English as the training will be in English.
  • Should be available for the training on constructive journalism from 17-19 March 2023.
  • Should be in cooperation with any free, independent Armenian media platform.
  • Should be interested in covering cooperation between the EU and Armenia and learning about EU-funded projects active in Armenia.
  • Each journalist can develop only one media material within the project.

Interested candidates must fill in this application form before 19 February. Journalists travelling from other cities in Armenia will be provided with accommodation.

From the Edges of the World: Malibu, Venice, USA

Aspram Saratikyan is again on the air of Tavush TV with his American travel stories.

We visit popular beach of Malibu and Venice suburb, not far from Malibu.

Malibu beach is one of the most famous beaches  in the world. the entire length of the coast is covered with fine and soft sand, and the view from the coast will forever remain in the memory.

Not far from Malibu is the famous Venice Beach. the beach got its name from the city. The beach is very similar to Venice. There are several canals inside the city, around which residential houses are built.




Exhibition dedicated to painter Samvel Melkumyan’s 70th birthday

On the initiative of the Ijevan municipality, an exhibition dedicated to the 70th anniversary of painter Samvel Melkumyan, a member of the Union of Artists, was held in the “Vernatun” gallery. The head of the Ijevan community, Artur Chagharyan, artists, representatives of the spiritual class, and citizens who love art participated in the opening ceremony of the exhibition.

Father Abel Kartashyan, head of the Department of Education, Culture, Sports and Youth of Ijevan municipalityշ Lilit Ghalumyanշ and painter Hamlet Asatryan made speeches շand introduced Samvel Melkumyan, the man and the artist, after which the art-loving society of the community had the opportunity to get acquainted with the works of Samvel Melkumyan.




Two-day trainings on labor rights

Within the framework of “the program Young people for equal labor rights,” Civil youth Center NGO is launching a series of two-day trainings on labor rights for young people  of enlarged communities of Berd, Dilijan, Ijevan, Noyemberyan in Tavush region.

Young people aged 14-30 can apply, including women in the same age range and people with disabilities. During the trainings, the topics of writing competitive resumes (CV), career design and planning for job interviews, labor relations and other topics will be presented.

Small and Emerging Business Development Program in Armenian Provinces with Scholarships for Women

In November 2022, the American University of Armenia (AUA) Open Education launched the “Sarkis Cabayan Small and Emerging Business Development Program in Armenian Provinces with Scholarships for Women.”

The goal of the program is to promote the development of businesses in the regions of Armenia, providing particular support to women entrepreneurs. The curriculum was prepared by the faculty of the AUA Manoogian Simone College of Business & Economics and invites entrepreneurs to participate in an intensive six-month course on entrepreneurship, business management, financial management, and finding new markets. In tandem with the main program, foreign and local mentors will provide individual and practical advice to students, aimed at the development of their businesses and the launch of new ideas. The training will be conducted in English, which is why the program opens with English language lessons before students start the business course.

The program is sponsored by Armenian-American Dr. Hrayr Cabayan who, emphasizing quality education and the role of women in a developed society, established a full scholarship for all female entrepreneur students in his father’s name.

The program will be implemented in the Shirak, Lori, Tavush, Vayots Dzor, and Syunik marzes of Armenia, as well as in Artsakh.
