Earthquake 99 km southwest of the city of Makhachkala; also felt in Tavush

On December 8, at 10:42 a.m. local time (06:42 a.m. GMT), the seismological network of the Seismic Protection Territorial Service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Armenia registered 99 from the city of Makhachkala, Russia, at the geographical coordinates of 42.23⁰ north latitude and 46.82⁰ east longitude. km south-west, with a depth of 10 km, an earthquake with a magnitude of 5.6.

The strength of the underground shock in the epicentral zone was 7-8 points.

The earthquake was felt in Tavush, Lori marzes with a magnitude of 3-4 and in Gegharkunik marz with a magnitude of 3.

Consecration of the chapel and unveiling of the bust in memory of Karen Margaryan, immortalized in the 44-day war

 

On November 23, the bust of Karen Margaryan, who died in the 44-day war, was unveiled in Paravakar village. The chapel at the top of the village, built in memory of Karen, was consecrated.

Karen Margaryan was born on November 23, 2000, in the village of Paravakar, Tavush region. From 2006-2018 he studied at Paravakar Secondary School, named after Edik Melkumyan. After graduating from school, he was admitted to the finance faculty of the Yerevan State University of Economics. But on January 30, 2019, leaving his studies incomplete, he was drafted into the Armenian Army.

Karen died on September 27, 2020, while performing a combat mission.

The City Park of Noyemberyan will be reconstructed

The project of the City Park of Noyemberyan has been launched.

The park has designated areas for sports and games for different age groups. The park and the surrounding public space aspire to be a favorite place not only for the residents of Noyemberyan city but also for the residents of 19 settlements of the enlarged community. A public hearing was also held in the community on the park improvement topic, where the residents raised their views. The project is implemented within the framework of the tripartite memorandum signed between “Skevra” Urban Planning Institute, “Aprelu” Foundation, and Noyemberyan Municipality.




The car fell into the valley. There was a victim

On November 25, at 20:53, the regional crisis management center of Tavush was alerted that an accident had occurred on the Gandzakar-Berd highway, and the car fell into the valley.

One combat unit from the fire-rescue squad of the Regional Rescue Department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations went to the scene of the incident.

It was found that near the 10th km of the Gandzakar-Berd highway, the “Gaz-66” truck (driver: N.M., born in 1968) left the roadway and rolled about 800 meters into the nearby valley; the driver died on the spot.

The rescuers cut off the power to the car and took N. M.’s body out of the valley on a stretcher (about 1 km) and brought closer to the vehicle.

On November 23, Karen Margaryan’s bust, who died in the 44-day Artsakh war, was unveiled in Paravaqar.

The opening ceremony was attended by Narek Ghushchyan, Deputy Governor of Tavush, RA NA MP Vahe Ghalumyan, Karen Margaryan’s parents, other officials, and residents of the village.

During the event, the life and fighting path of Karen Margaryan was presented.

After that, the consecration ceremony of the chapel built in memory of Karen Margaryan was held by the spiritual leader of Tavush Diocese, Bishop Bagrat Galstanyan.

19-year-old Karen Vahram Margaryan was born in 2000 in Paravaqar village of Tavush region.

Karen was the youngest child of the family. He had many future plans. He was going to continue his education after the army.




The taste of Tavush. Pumpkin for winter

Recipe

Clean the pumpkin, cut it and cook it, leave it to cool, then pass the cooked thick mass through a strainer. Add enough water to the resulting puree to make a neither too thick nor too watery mass.

Put the mixture on fire and start cooking. After boiling for 10 minutes, add sugar to taste, cook for another 10 minutes, then add sliced lemon. Leave to boil for another 2-3 minutes, then pour into washed and dried containers.
