Haybuis-2023 annual festival in Yenokavan

46-meter brduch (sandwich) – the “HayBuis” festival, which became traditional for the 9th time, united hundreds of people from different corners of Armenia again in the mountains of Yenokavan. The aim of the annual festival was to present and popularize the rich flora of Armenia as an important resource, to raise awareness among both locals and tourists about the uses and usefulness of plants growing in Armenia.

 






Environmental business ideas competition

“Dilijan Youth Cooperation Center” NGO has announced a competition of ideas on the environmental theme among families for the Yenokavan and Sevkar communities within the framework of the “Support for the Creation of Ecological Corridors” program in Armenia.

Ideas should be about how to improve the living conditions of rural families in a sustainable way without harming the environment.

Three main competition places are defined:

1․՝200,000 AMD

2․ 150,000 AMD

3․ 100,000  AMD

Applications must be submitted online or in paper (print) form.

This competition is carried out by the “World Wide Fund for Nature” Armenian office within the framework of the “Implementation of a participatory financial approach for socio-economic development in Armenia” component of the “Promotion of Ecocorridors in the South Caucasus – II” program. Warning sirens to be tested in the settlement of Yenokavan

The Rescue service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs informs that on April 12, an exercise will be held in the Yenokavan settlement of the Ijevan community of the Tavush region on the topic of “Organizing population alert, sheltering and evacuation in case of an air alarm signal”, during which an electric horn will be activated around 12:00. Please, don’t worry!




On Ijevan-Yenokavan highway, the car slid into the valley

On January 16, at 12:41, the Regional Crisis Management center of Tavush was alerted that a car accident happened on the highway of Yenokavan village; the help of rescuers was needed.

One fire unit from the Fire and Rescue Squad of the Regional Rescue Department of the MES of RA dispatched to the scene.

Before rescuers arrived at the scene, the driver (A. A., born in 1994) and the passenger (K. T., born in 1995) had been pulled out of the car.

It turned out that on the 4th km of the Ijevan-Yenokavan highway, the “BMW” car (driver: A. A., born in 1994) left the road and slid about 3 meters into the valley.

A. A. and K. T. were hospitalized at Ijevan Medical Center, where the state of their health was assessed satisfactory.

The rescuers disconnected the automotive battery.

7 years with nature and adventure lovers. Yell Extreme Park celebrated its birthday

The first extreme entertainment complex in Armenia, Yell Extreme Park, is seven years old.

After a two-year interval, the birthday of Yell Extreme Park was again celebrated this year. On August 6, many nature and adventure lovers of the regions of Armenia and abroad gathered in Apaga Resort. During the Yell’up event, interesting games and various activities were planned for the guests to ensure pleasant entertainment.

Yell Extreme Park was created in 2015. It is the first extreme entertainment place in Armenia, which provides an opportunity to do extreme sports without the need to be a professional. It unites adventure, nature, and active rest lovers.

Yell Extreme Park aims to contribute to the development of adventure tourism in Armenia, create new jobs, activate public life, and promote a healthy lifestyle. It implements a number of projects aimed at the development of the sector to become a major tourism center in the region.

The event organizers intend to organize a big and different event every year, involving more and more people and celebrate the birthday of Yell together in the nature of Yenokavan, accompanied by crazy rhythms and various adventure games.

“We try to create an environment where each of our guests can celebrate their birthday here,” says Tigran Chibukhchyan, Director of Apaga Projects.






The joint investment project of ANIF and Apaga Projects company is being completed 

The works of the joint investment project of the Armenian National Interests Fund (ANIF) and Apaga Projects are near completion, and all the services will soon be available to the public.

Apaga Projects company owns two projects in Yenokavan community of Tavush region: Apaga Resort hotel complex and Yell Park amusement park.

Tigran Chibukhchyan, the Director of Apaga Projects company, presents the completed works, “Now we are expanding with the support of ANIF, we will have twice more workplaces than now. In 2019, we reached 97 000 annual visitors to the community; now the goal is to reach 250 000 visitors.”

The cooperation between ANIF and Apaga Projects was aimed at the construction of a new 2.5 km long zipline at Yell Extreme Park and the introduction of a new sports entertainment platform as well as the infrastructure of the Apaga Resort hotel complex, including the development of a new kitchen and the increase of hotel room number stock.

According to Bella Manukyan, the director of “Entrepreneur + state fund” (Armenian National interests Fund’s (ANIF) subsidiary), the investment made in Apaga Projects was particularly important from the perspective of the community development, “the investment will have a direct impact on the quality of life and economic life of Yenokavan community and neighboring communities.”

The purpose of the activity of the investment fund of ANIF “Entrepreneur + State Investment Manager” company is to stimulate the inflow of private capital into the economy and, through it, to promote the development of local businesses. The fund makes investments in local companies contributing to the development and expansion of Armenian enterprises. Both new and existing business projects registered in the Republic of Armenia that meet the standards of the fund are subject to financing by the fund. The participation of the fund is 25-49%, and the amount of participation in one program is 0.5 – 4 million US Dollars (equivalent to AMD).

 






HayBuis Festival, the Greenest Festival of the Year, was held for the 8th time in Yenokavan (reportage, photo series)

 

Traditional HayBuis festival again united hundreds of people from different parts of Armenia in the embrace of the mountains of Yenokavan. The festival of the Armenian herbs and flowers, “HayBuis – 2022,” took place for the 8th time on June 25.

The purpose of the festival is to increase the level of awareness about plants as natural resources, teach the skills of effective use of nature’s benefits in everyday life, as well as develop environmental thinking. In the green space near Yell Extreme Park and APAGA Resort, more than 50 participants of the festival presented their works, informing people about the use and importance of known and unknown plants and giving an opportunity to increase knowledge about flora.

The co-founder of HayBuis, Irina Chibukhchyan, says, “The festival does not only create a festive mood, but it is also a small opportunity to gain new knowledge, new skills.” According to her, this is what exactly is included in the concept and slogan of HayBuis; “We keep what we love. We love what we know.”

Within the framework of the festival, a series of events were organized: various master classes, a contest of flower hats, and educational and musical projects. At the beginning of the day, interactive games and master classes were held in the fresh air and wonderful nature of Yenokavan. Students of Dilijan Fine Arts School and M dance Studio gave dance performances. “Shushik Band” held an interesting and musical master class with the attendees by making musical instruments from plastic and natural materials,

All the guests of the festival participated in a fantastic event. They made the longest 50-meter peace wrap from lavash, Armenian herbs, and cheese produced in different countries.

Despite the weather conditions of the first part of the day, the fog of Tavush did not prevent the guests from taking beautiful memories with them all the day was accompanied by national and folk songs, music, dances, and traditional games.

It should also be noted that the HayBuis festival was held for the first time in 2015. In 2018, the event became an annual and won the Global Event Awards, “Best Leisure Tourism Event” and “Golden Puzzle – Best Event Project” nominations.
