The mission of the structure is to reduce the vulnerability of the population by mobilizing the power of philanthropy. Prepare to face the situations that may cause the vulnerability of the population. Provide necessary assistance by supporting people in difficult socio-economic conditions.
The main goal of the organization is to prevent and alleviate human suffering, regardless of nationality, race, gender, class affiliation, religious and political views.
The Armenian Red Cross Society (ARCS), in pursuit of its humanitarian mission, strives to be always with the most vulnerable to meet their humanitarian needs and to alleviate suffering as much as possible.
In Tavush region ARCS supports:
- The most vulnerable lonely elderly people,
- Children and youngsters,
- The population of vulnerable communities,
- Socially needy families,
- Patients with tuberculosis,
- Isolated people due to Covid-19,
- People displaced as a result of Nagorno Karabakh conflict escalation.
Current programs
The program aims at social integration and improvement of the living conditions of the lonely refugee elderly and children.

Covid-19 resilience in Armenia and Georgia and Nagorno-Karabakh conflict response project
The Armenian Red Cross Society is involved in three components of the CoNaKa project: The ARCS
targeted the local population displaced by the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and affected by COVID-19.
Families in dire need of food and non-food items are among the national society’s primary targets. As
part of the disaster relief component, the ARCS aims to provide rental subsidies to beneficiaries
assessed and selected according to vulnerability groups through the project.
Within the gender-sensitive PSS support component framework, the families who applied for the ARCS
will receive socio-psychological support. - Accompanying Families of Missing Persons
The purpose of the program is to strengthen the preparedness of Tracing Service to identify and address the needs of restoring family links. Based on needs TS provides beneficiaries to appropriate organizations for legal consultations.
The main activity areas of the Center are treatment of marrow, spinal cord, musculoskeletal diseases, general and post-traumatic rehabilitation, patients’ vocational training, psychosocial rehabilitation and sanatorium-and-spa treatment.
The target population living in conflict affected communities of bordring regions is aware of the risks posed by the presence of weapons, understands how to adopt safer behavior, and prepares for the possibility of weapon-related events through RASB sessions.

The project focuses on sustainable knowledge sharing through an online library and capacity and skills building by delivering training on mental health and psychosocial support in all partner countries.
