Within the framework of the “EU COVID-19 Solidarity Program for Eastern Partnership Countries,” funded by the EU and implemented by the “Man in Need” NGO, the Berd Office of the Fund for Armenian Relief aimed to raise awareness about labor rights and their violations through the project, thus empowering the capabilities of the women living in the Berd community and making them competitive in the labor market.
At the initial stage of the project implementation, a needs assessment was carried out with the beneficiary women, as a result of which a series of training aimed at capacity building prepared, then an Advocacy group was formed from the six project beneficiary women, who participated in separate training on “Advocacy” and “Monitoring.”
The women presented the results of the conducted research during an extended discussion and received suggestions for solving the problems.
As a result of the “Employment of Women of the Berd Community affected by COVID -19” program, two participants have started working at one of the schools and kindergartens; one participant has started her own work, and one person has been admitted to a higher education institution.
At the closure event of the project, the FAR Berd Office awarded the participants certificates.
