Ijevan Territorial Center of the Unified Social Services was opened

From now on, about 47 000 residents of the Ijevan enlarged community will receive the services related to social insecurity, employment, medical and social examination, and social support on a “One window” basis at the newly opened Ijevan territorial center of the unified social services.

RA Minister of Labour and Social Affairs, Narek Mkrtchyan, Tavush Governor Hayk Ghalumyan, the Country Manager of the World Bank (WB) for Armenia Carolin Geginat, Head of the Unified Social Service Eduard Petrosyan, and other guests were present at the official opening ceremony of the center. 

RA Minister of Labour and Social Affairs Narek Mkrtchyan mentions, “The Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs realized an important reform, unified social service was created in 2021. It includes four services: social security, social assistance, employment, as well as medical and social examination. By introducing this reform, we enable the residents to receive all the services of the social protection and employment sphere from one state body on the principle of “one window”. This certainly increases the efficiency as well as the quality of the services.”

Unified social service will provide a more targeted and complete assessment of the social needs of the population, will contribute to the improvement of social work, and increase efficiency.

According to the Country Manager of the World Bank for Armenia Carolin Geginat, today, the 17th center of the unified social service was opened “As the social workers are also directly involved in working with citizens, the training courses funded by the World Bank are organized for them.” She hopes that this center of Unified Social Service; “will also work in parallel with the main idea adopted, that is to provide citizens with social services through a unifies system.”

The implementation of Unified Social Service enables to increase the quality of social services and provides the families with various social services packages. Such 49 territorial centers work in the Republic.
