Illegal trees were cut down in the “Ijevan Forestry Enterprise”, causing damage of 43 million drams.

Based on information obtained by the National Security Service, within the framework of a criminal proceeding under investigation by the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Armenia, employees of the Environmental Protection and Subsoil Inspectorate carried out inspections in the Ijevan Forestry branch of “HayAntar” State Non-Commercial Organization, specifically in the 5th and 6th compartments of the Ijevan Forestry Enterprise and the 5th and 6th compartments of the Khachardzan Forestry Enterprise.

This was reported by the Environmental Protection and Subsoil Inspectorate of the Republic of Armenia.

“The inspections covered the period from August 2024 to July 2025. As a result, 693 illegally felled trees of various species and diameters were discovered and recorded.

The damage caused to the plant world was assessed at 43,084,000 AMD.

The results of the inspection have been submitted to the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Armenia,” the statement reads.
