On September 3, a fire broke out near the firing positions of a military unit adjacent to the “Artsvaberd Forestry” branch of the “Hayantar” State Non-Commercial Organization under the Ministry of Environment, as well as in the nearby forested area.
Seven fire brigades of the Rescue Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, 10 employees of the Tavush Regional Department of the Eco-Patrol Service from the Ijevan and Artsvaberd divisions, about 40 volunteers, and 8 pieces of equipment were involved in the firefighting efforts.
The fire spread into the territory of the Norashen Forestry under the “Artsvaberd Forestry” branch. Firefighting operations are still underway.
