The Personal Data Protection Agency has launched an awareness and training program from Tavush aimed at increasing the level of awareness in general education schools of the Republic of Armenia regarding the right to protection of children’s personal data.
The program was implemented with the support of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports, the UNICEF Representation in Armenia, and the “Center for Implementation of Legal Education and Rehabilitation Programs” SNCO.
The Agency’s specialists have developed a practical manual titled *“Regulations for the Processing of Personal Data in Educational Institutions”*, which can serve as a primary guide for all educational institutions. It contains clear legal and practical instructions that will help schools ensure the lawfulness of data processing and the protection of children’s rights.
During the second phase of the program, the Agency’s specialists trained around 210 teachers from general education schools in Tavush Province. The trainings included both legal knowledge and practical skills to ensure the protection of children’s personal data in the school environment.
Based on the successful results of the trainings, the Agency plans to continue the program, covering all general education schools in Armenia. As a result, numerous teachers will acquire the knowledge and skills that will help effectively protect children’s personal data.
