On the initiative of “Dilijan Youth Cooperation Center” NGO, on July 28, a public discussion was held on the topic “Is democracy possible without populism?” The discussion was held with the cooperation with the Caucasus Institute. The purpose of the public discussion was to discuss the concept of populism with representatives of the civil society, the cases, causes and consequences of the use of populism in the social and political life of Armenia under the conditions of democracy.
The speakers were Daniel Ioannisyan, the program coordinator of the “Union of Informed Citizens” NGO, and Gor Petrosyan, an expert of the Caucasus Institute.
The discussion was carried out within the framework of the project “Vaccination against unfree democracy and populism”, which is implemented by the Caucasus Institute with the support of the “Black Sea Trust” project of the German Marshall Fund of the USA.
