Public Notice: Use of winter tires becomes mandatory starting november 15

From November 15 to March 31, the operation of vehicles without proper winter tires will be prohibited, according to the announcement by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Armenia.

In particular, vehicle operation will be restricted if:

  • Passenger cars and trucks with a maximum permissible weight of up to 3.5 tons are not equipped with winter tires.

  • The tread depth of the winter tires intended for icy or snow-covered road conditions is 4 millimeters or less during driving.

Violations of these requirements will result in administrative penalties.

Ensuring a safe environment for citizens’ lives and health remains one of the Ministry of Internal Affairs’ top priorities.

Dear drivers, the Ministry urges all road users to follow traffic safety rules, equip their vehicles with properly treaded winter tires, and demonstrate responsible, law-abiding, and conscious behavior on the road.
