The Feast of the Cross was celebrated with a cross procession under the leadership of the spiritual pastors, Father Simeon and Father Abel.
The Feast of the Cross is the last of the five Feast of the Armenian Church. It is celebrated in memory of the return of Christ’s cross to Jerusalem from the Persian captivity and the erection of the cross in Goghgota. Hence the holiday is called the Feast of the Cross (Khachverats).
First of all, the holiday of Khachverats has the sacrament of renewal by resurrection. According to Grigor Tatevatsi, the cross became the bridge connecting heaven and earth, “the one that opens the doors of heaven and gives the heavenly kingdom as an inheritance.”
