HayBuis Festival, the Greenest Festival of the Year, was held for the 8th time in Yenokavan (reportage, photo series)

Traditional HayBuis festival again united hundreds of people from different parts of Armenia in the embrace of the mountains of Yenokavan. The festival of the Armenian herbs and flowers, “HayBuis – 2022,” took place for the 8th time on June 25.

The purpose of the festival is to increase the level of awareness about plants as natural resources, teach the skills of effective use of nature’s benefits in everyday life, as well as develop environmental thinking. In the green space near Yell Extreme Park and APAGA Resort, more than 50 participants of the festival presented their works, informing people about the use and importance of known and unknown plants and giving an opportunity to increase knowledge about flora.

The co-founder of HayBuis, Irina Chibukhchyan, says, “The festival does not only create a festive mood, but it is also a small opportunity to gain new knowledge, new skills.” According to her, this is what exactly is included in the concept and slogan of HayBuis; “We keep what we love. We love what we know.”

“We keep what we love. We love what we know.”

Within the framework of the festival, a series of events were organized: various master classes, a contest of flower hats, and educational and musical projects. At the beginning of the day, interactive games and master classes were held in the fresh air and wonderful nature of Yenokavan. Students of Dilijan Fine Arts School and M dance Studio gave dance performances. “Shushik Band” held an interesting and musical master class with the attendees by making musical instruments from plastic and natural materials,

All the guests of the festival participated in a fantastic event. They made the longest 50-meter peace wrap from lavash, Armenian herbs, and cheese produced in different countries.

Despite the weather conditions of the first part of the day, the fog of Tavush did not prevent the guests from taking beautiful memories with them all the day was accompanied by national and folk songs, music, dances, and traditional games.

It should also be noted that the HayBuis festival was held for the first time in 2015. In 2018, the event became an annual and won the Global Event Awards, “Best Leisure Tourism Event” and “Golden Puzzle – Best Event Project” nominations.
