The preliminary investigation of the investigation of the employee of the Noyemberyan Center of the United Social Service and two other persons accused of bribery has been completed

According to the preliminary investigation carried out by the RA Anti-Corruption Committee in the criminal proceedings initiated under Article 435, Part 1 of the RA Criminal Code, it was established that the employee of the Noyemberyan Territorial Center of the RA Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs L. A. received a bribe from the mentioned persons in order to take actions within the framework of his powers for the benefit of two residents of Tavush region, including not stopping the provision of state benefits and organizing the process of extending the benefit period smoothly.

In particular, during the preliminary investigation, it was found that A. A., a resident of Tavush region, on March 1, 2023, paid a bribe of 20,000 AMD to L. A., an employee of the Noyemberyan territorial center of the United Social Service, in exchange for extending the period of his brother’s right to state benefits and not stopping the provision of benefits.

In addition, it was found that the above-mentioned official received a bribe on the same day from another resident of Tavush region, from G. Y. The latter, in order not to delay his inclusion in the list of beneficiaries receiving state benefits due to the change of his place of residence and to receive the benefit on time, L. A. was given a bribe of 10,000 AMD.

To receive a bribe L. A. was charged under part 1 of Article 435 of the RA Criminal Code (section 2), and A. was charged with bribery. A. A. and Y. G. were charged under part 1 of Article 436 of the RA Criminal Code.

The criminal investigation has been completed. The materials of the proceedings with the indictment were sent to the supervising prosecutor with a request to approve it and send it to the court.

Note: Everyone charged with a criminal offence shall be presumed innocent until proven guilty in a manner prescribed by the Criminal Procedure Code of the Republic of Armenia and found guilty by a court decision that has entered into legal force.
