The project submitted by YSU Ijevan branch and international partners within the framework of Erasmus program has been approved

In January 2025, a number of higher education institutions from Armenia, Kyrgyzstan, Slovenia, Germany and Georgia developed and presented the DIGITECH project within the framework of the ERASMUS Lump Sum Grant program. The Ijevan branch of YSU and the Armenian State University of Economics applied for the program from the Republic of Armenia.

On July 15, 2025, the results were summarized, according to which the DIGITECH project was approved by the European Commission. The duration of the program is 3 years, the amount allocated for Ijevan branch of YSU is 94,383 euros.

The main objective of the project is to develop capacities in the field of higher education, to introduce innovative technologies in the digitalization of technological processes and production. It is in line with EU policies on digital transformation, green technologies and open access, ensuring long-term impact and sustainability.

YSU Ijevan branch informs that the DIGITECH project aims to address the mismatch between educational outcomes and labor market demands in Kyrgyzstan, Armenia, and Georgia by introducing innovative technologies (“Big Data,” machine learning, and artificial intelligence”) into existing curricula for technological process and production automation. The project aims to improve the quality of education and the employability of graduates by equipping them with advanced skills in the field of technological process digitization and production, while modernizing teaching methodologies and promoting closer cooperation between academia and industry.

The project includes updating undergraduate curricula, developing continuing professional development courses, and establishing “Digital Twins” technology labs at participating universities. Inclusion plays a key role in the project, aiming to create equal opportunities for women, disadvantaged groups, and students from remote regions.

Through collaboration with European universities and industry leaders, the project will introduce best practices, improve teacher training and promote sustainable economic development. Through international cooperation and knowledge transfer, it will create a solid educational platform, contributing to the economic and technological progress of the participating countries.
