On October 1, the funeral of Davit Gishyan, a soldier, who was captured and killed as a result of Azerbaijani aggression on September 13, was held in Saint Sargis Church of Noyemberyan.
Davit was drafted into the Armenian army in July, 2021, and served in the mountains of Syunik. On September 24, he would become 20.
The funeral ceremony was performed by the Leader of Tavush Diocese, Bagrat Srbazan.
Barsegh Gishyan, Davit’s father tells, “During one of our last conversations, he said: dad, I am looking at the sky and there are so many stars. Do you remember that in the mountains of Noyemberyan, we used to look at the sky, now I am looking and there are so many stars. Of course, I was happy that he could find something in the silence of the night, in the mountains of Syunik to make his service pleasant- looking at those stars and remembering his childhood in our mountains…”
